Joann Parr, 72, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley at Seaman.

She was born in Rarden on April 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Jesse and Rosella (Jenkins) Smith.

She was a member of the Hillsboro Nazarene Church.

She is survived by her husband, Willard Parr of Hillsboro; one son, Mark Ryan of Hillsboro; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Craig Wilson of Peebles, Connie and Mark Greene of Cincinnati, Carolyn and Danny Pertuset of Peebles and Cheryl and Matthew Greene of Peebles; two stepdaughters, Karen Burchett of Arizona and Mary Fettro of Hillsboro; five brothers; one sister; five grandchildren, Shana, Chad, Lee, Tyler, Luke, Hannah and Haley; and two great-grandchildren, Gage and Nash.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Peebles Church of Christ with Mark Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. till time of service at noon at the Peebles Church of Christ.

The Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley or the Peebles Church of Christ.
