Jessie Hazel Wilson, 93, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born April 14, 1918, in Bloomingburg, the daughter of the late Alfonzo A. and Maude Marie (Clark) Campbell.
She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in education, and was a day-care director for several years in the Highland County area.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
She is survived six children, Paul Curl and his wife, Frances, of Jacksonville, Fla., Charles C. Wilson and his wife, Emily, of Lancaster, Joseph E. Wilson and his wife, Karen, of Vandalia, Doris A. Wilson of Batavia, Mary E. Armstrong and her husband, Dean, of Hillsboro, and Patricia A. Hottinger and her husband, Dan, of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren, Paul Jr., Todd, Beth, Joe Jr., Sherry, Mike, Phyllis, Daniel, Jessica, Amber, Hilary, Amy, Katie and Danny Jr., 15 great-grandchildren, David, Gerra, Christopher, Jessie, Cary, Anastasia, Makenzie, David Jr., Christian, Ashley, D.J., Brandon, Hannah, Elizabeth, Emily; three great-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Brian and Jaden.
She had four sisters, Irene Sword, Della Downs, Laura Pollard and Kathleen Abbott; and one brother, James Campbell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles C. Wilson, on July 4, 1995; a daughter, Ellen I. Seymour; and a son, Robert E. Wilson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 17 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Josh McFarland will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 127 South West Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
