Jesse E. VanDyke, 91, of Greenfield, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Hearth & Care Nursing Center of Greenfield.
He was born March 23, 1920 in Pike County, the son of the late Walter and Nellie (Mossbarger) VanDyke.
He was retired from Mac Tool Co. of Sabina and a member of Greenfield Eagles Lodge and the VFW.
On Nov. 8, 1952, he married Dorothy Helterbrand, who survives.
He is also survived by a son, Roger (Sandra) VanDyke of Circleville; a grandson, Joseph (Jessica) VanDyke; a great-grandson, Jason VanDyke; sisters Helen Matthews of Greenfield, Phyllis (George) Smith of Leesburg, and Ann Schmidt of Arizona; and brothers Howard (Norma) VanDyke and Russell (Maxine) VanDyke, both of Greenfield, and Bob (Fran) VanDyke of Washington C.H.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy McAllister and Mary Bell, and a brother, Charles VanDyke.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Drew Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until time of service Tuesday.[[In-content Ad]]
