Jerry L. Behm, 70, of the Belfast community, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.
He was born Dec. 17, 1939 in Highland County, the son of the late Lewis W. and Lida E. (Devore) Behm. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Lou Behm.
Jerry was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church, a 1957 graduate of Belfast High School, and a member of the Highland County Antique Machinery Club and the Southwestern Ohio Farm Toy Collectors Club. Jerry retired after 27 years of service from the Highland County Highway Department.
On Oct. 19, 1957 he was united in marriage to Effie (Palmer) Behm, who survives. He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Sandy Behm of Belfast; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Martin Boris of New Vienna and Susan and Jeff Leach of Leesburg; five grandchildren, A.J. Behm, Zach Behm, Matthew Leach, Erica (Adam) Michael, and Amber Boris; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Helen Behm of Hillsboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Butler of Hillsboro; five nieces; one nephew; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Pastor Ken Woleab will officiate with burial to follow in the Coss Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4:-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
