Jerry Kevin Cox, 67, of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Adena Medical Center in Greenfield, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 4, 1957 to the late Jerry and Peggy Cox.
He was a Gold Member of the Greenfield FOE 1325, as well as a member of the Hillsboro FOE 1161, and the American Legion Post 568. He was employed with Candle-lite for 40-plus years, where he retired from in 2021. He loved sitting on the front porch and playing with his grandkids. He loved spending time with his family and close friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandy Cox, of 47 years; two children, Lisa (Scott) Wheeler and Jerrod (Caitlyn) Cox both of Leesburg; three brothers, Jeff (Marie) Cox of Leesburg, Jay (Shelane) Cox, and Joe (Becky) Cox both of Bunnell, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Karen Hampton of Leesburg and Becky (David) Harmon of Blanchester; several nieces and nephews as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews; grandchildren, Ryan (Whitney) Evans of Mansfield, Emma Wheeler, Jarrett Cox, Andrea Cox and Jarran Little, all of Leesburg; as well as two great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Klayton Evans of Mansfield.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Peggy Cox; and a brother, Jamey Cox.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Leesburg Friends Church, 149 South St, Leesburg. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at the church. Burial will follow at Hardin’s Creek Cemetery at Bridges.
