Jeffrey L. Korotnayi, 51, of Hillsboro, formerly of Toledo, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
   
He was born May 26, 1959, in Oregon, Ohio the son of James J. and Ann (Strick) Korotnayi.
   
He graduated from St. Stephen's Grade School and Morrison R. Waite High School in 1977. He loved God, his family, friends, nieces, nephews and godchildren. He lived his life to the fullest and was a child at heart. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles with close friends. He was a fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines, the Toledo Rockets, Cleveland Browns, and the Detroit Tigers.

He touched so many lives and will be remembered for his unique laugh and smile. He was very active at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in his earlier years, where he served as an usher and helped with bingo.

He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro, was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and Honor Guard of the James R. Hoffman Knights of Columbus Assembly #807, was a member of the St. Mary Knights of Columbus #10149, and was past Grand Knight of Our Lady of Fatima Council #3564 in Toledo.

On June 28, 1980, in Toledo, he married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Jill (Wlodarz) Korotnayi, and she survives. He is also survived by his parents, James J. and Ann (Strick) Korotnayi of Toledo; five siblings, Jacqueline Korotnayi of Toledo, Jeannette Dishaw and her husband, John, of Upland, Calif., Charles Korotnayi and his wife, Christine, of Perrysburg, Karen Startzman and her husband, Tim, of Maumee and Lori Balogh and her husband, Dave, of Toledo; his parents-in-law, James and Janet (Heintschel) Wlodarz of Oregon, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Jim) Hall of Maumee and Kay (Jeff) Wagner of Midland, Michigan; a brother-in-law, David (Anita) Wlodarz of Oregon, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Korotnayi Jr., and a brother-in-law, James Wlodarz Jr.
   
A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation in Oregon will be 2-9 p.m. on Friday, March 25 at the Hoeflinger-Bolander funeral home in Oregon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m on Saturday, March 26 at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Oregon. Burial will follow in the St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
