Janet L. Powell, 60, of New Vienna, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 20, 1950 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Beecher Howard and Alice (Throckmorton) Howard of Hillsboro. Beside her father, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Jim Fridley.
Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Alice Powell Kidder of New Vienna; three grandchildren, Teghan Kidder, Wesley Kidder and Ryleigh Kidder; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ralph Griffith of Hillsboro, Diane And Gary Barnett of Leesburg, and Joyce Fridley of Hillsboro; two nephews, two nieces, two great- nephews and one great-niece.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday April 6 at the Hillsboro House of Worship, 8395 U.S. 62 North, Hillsboro. Pastor Randy Hamilton will officiate with burial to follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from noon-2 p.m. at the Hillsboro House of Worship.
