Imogene Barker Walter, 77, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday morning, April 5, 2011 at the Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born May 9, 1933 in Saldee, Ky., the daughter of the late Sam and Mary Short Raleigh.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Lou (Steve) Stockwell of Alexandria, Ky.; three sons, Mike Barker of Greenville, Pat (Carolyn) Barker of Hillsboro, and Sam Barker of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Harris, Brittany (Corey) Christopher, Charlie Barker, Laura (Marcos) Perera, Tyler Barker, Samantha Barker, Kim (Jeff) Alford and Sommer (Chuck) Bryant; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Gary) Smith of Lynchburg and Maxine (Marvin) Brose of Corinth, Miss.; and one brother, Vernon Raleigh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Roe and Pauline Musicamp.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Steve Stockwell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
