Helen Parks, 91, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Crestwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.

She was born May 24, 1920 in Manchester, Ky., the daughter of the late John Scott and Mae Mason Woods.

She is survived by three children, Mick and his wife Pam Parks of Hillsboro, Charles and his wife Betty Parks of Manchester, Ky. and Bobbie Sue Preston of Wilmington; siblings, Chester (Sharon) Woods of Kentucky, Bea Bailey of California, Mary Lynn (Gene) Gunter of California, Jean Jordan of Tennessee and Marie (Charles) Strickland of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles Lee Parks in 1999; son Paul Parks; brothers Henry and James Woods; son-in-law Gary Preston; and brother-in-law Roger Jordan.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Union Cemetery on Union Road near Belfast. There will be no public visitation. Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
