Gloria D. Cyrus, 78, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Heartland of Hillsboro. 
She was born Feb. 10, 1932 in Fayette County, the daughter of the late William and Serepta (Butcher) Dawes. 
On Jan. 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Cyrus who preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Denver Dettillion and Harold Dawes.
She is survived by one son, Robert W. Cyrus of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Michelle and Quentin; one sister, Susan Baughn of Washington C.H.; and special friends, Winona and Bill Storer of Hillsboro.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 9094 in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Dr. Dan Lamb will officiate with burial to follow in the Hightop Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
