Gladys Dee Shelton, 84, of Leesburg, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
She was born on June 26, 1926 in Mason County, Ky., the daughter of the late Alva Mullikin and Erthel Pitts Mullikin Blake.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather Earl Blake; one daughter, Janet Walker; one brother, William Blake; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by five sons, Elmo (Sue) Walker, Jr. of Greenfield, Marvin (Carol) Walker of South Salem, Charles (Wendy) Walker of Lynchburg, Phister and Terry Walker of New Vienna and Clint and Carmen Walker of Leesburg; five daughters, Bonnie (Gene) Armstrong of Hillsboro, Geneva (John) Webb of Phoenix, Ariz., Judy Prater of Hillsboro, Hazel (Kenny) Ballard-Voiles of Staunton and Theresa (Ronnie) Rhoads of Hillsboro; one sister, Louise (Paul) Jones of Andalusia, Ala.; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church.
