Geneva M. Lee, 76, of Xenia, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at the Greene Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 29, 1936, in Hillsboro, the daughter of James Lester and Elsie Annette (Roberts) Steward.

She had retired as a surgical technician and also from the Hobart Corporation, and had worked as a pharmacy technician. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Xenia, and was a former member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

She was a member of the Aldora Chapter #262 Order of the Eastern Star, was a former president of the Chillicothe District Convention of Eastern Union Baptist Association, a former member-at-large of the Eastern Union, a former CAO Board Member, and was the former director of the children’s and youth choir at the New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Elsie Young of Hillsboro; four daughters, Pamela L. Thomas and her husband, Donald of Clarksville, Tenn., Lois E. Bowen of Los Angeles, Calif., Veronica L. (Phil) Zimmerman of Hillsboro and Lisa A. Cason of Columbus; three step-daughters, Theresa (Leonard) Jones of Xenia, Karen (Moses) Peterson of Springfield and Sharon (Felipe) Torres of Springfield; a step-son, Calvin T. Lee, Jr. of Xenia; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Evelyn Bostick of Dayton, Virginia (Perry) Harewood of Hillsboro, Carolyn (Lewis) Goins of Hillsboro and Charlotte Harbut of Hillsboro; three brothers, Lewis E. (Delia) Steward of Montclair, Calif., William Russell (Mary) Steward of Dayton and Ralph F. (Jennifer) Steward of Hillsboro; many nieces and nephews, cousins and host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin T. Lee, Sr., in May 2012; her father, James Lester Steward; and her brother, James C. Steward.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the New Hope Baptist Church. Pastors Gary Chapman and Mike Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at the Zion Baptist Church in Xenia and from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, also on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 128 E. Beech St., Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or the Zion Baptist Church, 565 E. Main St., Xenia, Ohio 45385.
