Fred W. Roush, 78, of Lynchburg, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at the Salyers Adult Group Home.

He was born Aug. 23, 1934, in Lynchburg, the son of the late Fredrick Crampton and Mecia (Penquite) Roush.

A 1952 Lynchburg-Clay High School graduate, he was a third-generation lifetime farmer. He raised dahlias and loved to garden, fish, hunt and play pool.

On Feb. 21, 1969, in Lawrenceburg, Ind., he married his wife of 43 years, Dianne (Burton) Roush, and she survives. He is also survived by five children, Randy, Marcia, Diann, Bradley and Todd; four granddaughters; three grandsons; two sisters, Doris and Donna, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen and Marilyn; and a brother, Irvin Earl Roush.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the funeral home in Lynchburg.
