Frances May Hess, 51, of Wilmington, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 at her home after fighting a lengthy illness.

She was born July 29, 1961 in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of Tom and Sylvia Jo Hess.

She attended Lorain High School and was the owner of Tainted Expressions Tattoo Shop for 15 years. She had been a tattoo artist for 20 years. Her interests included bingo, horseback riding and spending time friends and family.

She is survived by her parents, Tom and Judy Hess; aunts, Dot Kelly and Shirley Sarver; brother, Richard Hess; sister, DeLee Wampler; children, Kristin, John and Josh; grandchildren, Justin, Dakota, Joseph and Dawny; nephews, Nathaniel Ripley and Nicholas Ripley; and great-nephew Nathaniel Eric Ripley, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Jo True Hess; and grandparents Richard and Georgia Hess, Frances Perine and Ray True.

Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at the Wilmington Church of God, 100 R. Gordon Drive, Wilmington.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is serving the family.
