Forrest Little
Forrest Little, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully at his home Dec. 30, 2025.
Forrest was born Oct. 1, 1940 and grew up in Aberdeen, Ohio.
He began working at an early age as a Pepsi Cola route driver serving areas south of Maysville, Ky.
In 1962, at the age of 22, he purchased a feed mill in Highland County just outside the community of Danville. He named his business Little’s Feed & Farm Supply. He ran the mill several years before pursuing a Deutz farm tractor dealership. After great success selling Deutz tractors and equipment, he was approached by the J.I. Case Company in the early 1970s to see if he would be interested in a dealership. He was eager to try it, and began selling their tractors and equipment. In 1980, Little’s Farm Supply was named as the top retail sales Case dealership in the United States. He went on to add other business ventures, including farming and commercial trucking. Forrest was fortunate to have many great employees over the years, but he was proceeded in death by three lifetime employees who were especially dedicated and instrumental in his success: Donald Burbage, Robert Malott and Russell Pegan. Forrest always worked hard to provide for his family who he loved dearly, especially his grandchildren who held a special place in his heart.
Forrest is survived by Janet Little, his loving wife of 63 years; a son, Ricky (Julie) Little of Lynchburg; a daughter, Patricia Scherer of Cincinnati; a son, David (Lisa) Little of Lynchburg; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no services.
