Florence C. Richey, 93, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 4, 2012 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 24, 1919, in New Richmond, Ohio, the daughter of the late Peter Lucus and Hazel Clark.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Hillsboro VFW Post #9094 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Mullen of Eastgate; two sons, Don Richey of Hillsboro and Gary (Cheryl) Richey of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Kelly (Joe) Scanlon, Gary (Kristin) Richey, Jr., Jeremy (Melissa) Richey, Doug (Diane) Mullen and Kenneth (Rita) Mullen; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Scanlon, Kyle Scanlon, Emmale Richey, Izabella Richey, Chelsea Mullen, Lindsay Mullen, Tom (Breanne) Mullen, Kyle (Sara) Mullen and Tanya (Roger) Brown; eight great-great-grandchildren, Nick Mullen, Matthew Mullen, T.J. Mullen, Miranda Mullen, Carly Brown, Caleb Brown, Dane Hamilton and Jeremy Richey, Jr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Donald H. Richey, on Feb. 20, 2000; three grandchildren, Gene Mullen, Brandy Richey and Micheal Richey; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Mullen, Sr.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Green Mound Cemetery in New Richmond. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
