Evelyn A. Rooks, 88 of Washington C.H., formerly of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Manor of Washington C.H.

She was born June 8, 1924 in Washington C.H., the daughter of Leland and Mabel (Dawson) Campbell.

She was a homemaker, a 1942 graduate of Washington C.H. High School, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenfield.

She is survived by one son, William A. (Korene R.) Rooks, Jr. of Hadley, Pa.; one grandson, Bryce Rooks; four granddaughters, Brook Orth, Lori Smith, Melanie Yankie, and Kelly Alexander; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandi Newlon, Greenfield; and six nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Rooks, Sr., on May 28, 1976; one daughter, Kathie Smith; two brothers, William and Donald; and two sisters, Connie and June.

Graveside service will be noon Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Greenfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Tim Mohon officiating.

There will be no visitation observed.

The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
