Erdine Eileen Winegar, 96, of Hanson, Mass., formerly of Greenfield, died Friday, March 5, 2010 in Norwood, Mass.
She was born in Greenfield Jan. 19, 1914 to the late William and Ethel (Cable) Badgley. On June 31, 1937, she married Willard Winegar, who preceded her in death May 7, 2001.
Erdine was employed for many years as an executive secretary at the American Pad and Textile Co. and the Wilknit Hosiery Co., both in Greenfield. She was an active member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church and continued her church work as a member of the First Parish, Unitarian, in Norwell, Mass.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Susan and Dexter Robinson of Hanson, Mass. and Dr. Larry and Carol Winegar of Suttons Bay, Mich.; five grandchildren, Kent, Ann, and Neil Winegar and Richard and Elizabeth Robinson; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Stout; and by four brothers, Robert, Norris, Emory, and William Badgley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Apirl 24, 2010 at Greenfield Cemetery, with the Rev. McClellan Nicholson officiating. Friends may call at the Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home in Greenfield from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday.
