Douglas B. McLean, Jr., 82, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at the VA Medical Center of Chillicothe.
He was born Aug. 14, 1928 in Boston, Mass., the son of the late Douglas B. and Mabel H. (Dwyer) McLean.
He was retired from the military service, in which he served as major in the U.S. Air Force and captain in the U.S. Army while serving at the Pentagon. He was a member of the Amvets Post 61.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiana (Price) McLean, whom he married Dec. 28, 1984; one daughter, Ceclia (Carl) Brizemore of Texas; two sons, Dan (June) McLean and Kenneth (Susan) McLean, both of Dayton; two stepdaughters, Kim Drum of Rideway, Colo. and Debbie (Tim) Beier of Edgewood, Ky.; two stepsons, Robert (Donna) Midlam of Greenfield and Steven (Stephanie) Midlam of Kettering; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin McLean of California; two sisters, Alvin McLean of California and Cora Burchfield of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Rob McLean and Gary Midlam.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home of Greenfield with Rev. Judi Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Monday, with veterans appreciation service to be held at 2 p.m.
