Dorothy Wenona Heaton, 88, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Clay Township in Highland County on April 4, 1923, the daughter of the late Ray and Elizabeth Jane (Mangus) Cornetet.
She was a member of the Hillsboro 1st Presbyterian Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Heaton, whom she married on June 21, 1947; two sons, David Heaton of Hillsboro and Terry (Katherine) Heaton of Conowingo, Md.; one daughter, Nancy Heaton of Hillsboro; one brother, Bill Cornetet of Georgetown; two sisters, Anna Bohl and Carol Jean Acree, both of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Michael J. Heaton, Scott M. Heaton, Matthew M. Heaton and Toni (Douglas) Metcalf; and two great-grandsons, Seth and Zachary Metcalf.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Wanda Heaton; grandson, Andrew Heaton; one brother, James Cornetet; and one sister, Lucille Heaton.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery at Arnheim in Brown County.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
