Donald W. Siders, 65, of the Sugar Tree Ridge community, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia with his family at his bedside.

He was born July 9, 1947 in Hillsboro, the son of Robert E. and Mary B. Beets Siders.

He was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy. He enjoyed playing poker, shooting guns and listening to rock and roll music.

He is survived by Brenda Joyce Brooks Siders, his wife of 41 long, wonderful years; his mother, Mary Siders of Hillsboro; children, Jennifer (Tyler) Roades of Hillsboro, Nikki (Frank) McClary of McDermott, Kelley Siders of Hillsboro, Ian (Megan) Siders of Whidbey Island, Wash. and Mathew Siders of Sugar Tree Ridge; stepson, Jack (Angela) Brooks of Middletown; grandchildren, Aaron Brooks, Bridget Brooks, Sarah Parr, Morgan Parr, Gunnar Parr, Logan Parr, Chelby Roades, Lauren Roades, Jesse McClary, Jared McClary, Breana McClary, Michael Siders, Lily Siders and Samuel Siders; great-grandchildren, Xaver Clay, Tesla Hudgins, Koen Parr, Rylan Brooks and Drake Meadows; brothers and sisters, Betty Jean (Joe) Shank, Kenneth Siders, James (Linda) Siders, Sandra (John) Abell, Vicki (Mike) Couch, Robert (Cathy) Siders and Paul Siders; brother-in-law (poker player and official target scorer), Arnold Phillips; close cousin, Stan Siders; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Siders; paternal grandparents, Joseph Albert and Lille Lee Spurgeon; maternal grandparents, Albert and Flossie Beets; "self-appointed brother," Gus Dunkin; sister-in-law, Lydia Phillips; and best friend, Max.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Public visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with casual dress requested.

Memorial donations are directed to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
