Donald E. Bethel, 53, of Greenfield, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.

He was born May 10, 1957 in Greenfield, the son of the late John and Patricia (Grimsley) Bethel.

He worked for Johnson Controls for several years. He was a 1975 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School.

He is survived by his wife, Maria (Dapanas) Bethel, whom he married on Dec. 7, 2007; two daughters, Andrea Bethel and Courtney Bethel, both of Greenfield; one granddaughter, Baylee Woodrow; two sisters, Teresa (Larry) Fitzpatrick of Florida and Nancy (Mac McMullen) Bailey of Fayetteville; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David Bethel.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the St. Benignus Catholic Church, 218 S. 2nd Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123 with pastors Mark Current and Esto Haithcock officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Greenfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, 380 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
