Donald E. Beekman, 43, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at his home.
He was born on April 1, 1969 in Chillicothe, the son of Don and Carol Farney.
He was currently employed at Kenworth of Chillicothe. He was the owner of Quick Stoppe Restaurant in Greenfield. He was a 1987 graduate of Western Latham High School and was a senior at Ohio University of Chillicothe. He served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm and was a member of American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge, and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly Lynn (Davis) Beekman, whom he married on April 9, 1988; one daughter, Whitney Dawn (Tanner Vanzant) Beekman of Greenfield; one son, Nicholas Arthur Beekman of Greenfield; one grandson, Jax Rayder Beekman; parents, Don and Carol Farney of Gallipolis; grandmother, Olive Satterfield of Peebles; one brother, Daniel (Farrah) Farney of Gallipollis; parents-in-law, Nick and Janet Brigner of Piketon; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Kimberly) Davis of Waverly and Tommie (Jamie Moreno) Scowden of Antwerp; four nephews, Tyler, Brock, Kyle and Richie; and one niece, Emma.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Satterfield.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Marcus Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Washburn Cemetery in Latham with military rites provided at gravesite.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 with Veterans Appreciation Service to begin at 8 p.m.
