Della M. Wilson
Della M. Wilson, 79, of Lynchburg died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born April 10, 1933 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Harold and Viola Brown Shaffer.
Mrs. Wilson had worked as a bookkeeper for 30 years for the Highland Enterprise Lumber Company in Hillsboro and she was also a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ.
On July 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to Ernest Wilson, who preceded her in death in 2005.
She is survived by her companion of 26 years, Calvin Clark of Lynchburg; two daughters, Diana (Steve) Bailey of Lynchburg and Deborah (Jim) Cline of Lynchburg; two sisters, Carolyn Godlove of Lynchburg and Violet (Clarence) Hanson of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Steven Bailey of Lynchburg, Seth Bailey of Lynchburg, Brent (Christina) Wilson of Lynchburg and Brian Wilson of Lynchburg; five great-grandchildren; Sidney Wilson of Lynchburg, Madilyn Wilson of Lynchburg, Eli Wilson of Lynchburg, Michaela Gilbert of Lynchburg, and Bryauna Bailey of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Haroldean Shaffer and Glenda Rayburn.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Larry Herdman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
