Dave Williams, 57, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 24, 1953 in Wilmington, the son of George C. and Betty Woolard Williams.
Dave worked hard all his life. He started working with his grandfather Charles Woodard at Charles Woodard Blacktopping at a young age, and that business later became Dave Williams Blacktopping. Dave graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1971 and belonged to the N.R.A, American Coalition of Amputees, and the American Association of Kidney Patients. He loved to fish, hunt, and make knives. Dave loved the outdoors and cherished his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Spears Williams, who he married Sept. 30, 1988 in Covington, Ky.; a son, Chad (Carla) Countryman of Dayton; a daughter, Sarah Williams of Dayton; a grandson, Owen Countryman of Dayton; his “best friend,” Jed; and a very special aunt, Marjorie Layton of Utica.
Funeral services and committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A public visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Highland County Society for Children and Adults, P.O. Box 258, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133; Highland County Dog Pound Volunteers, c/o Cathy Seifer, 3669 Alexander Drive, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
