Darrell Wayne Johnson, 53, of Midland, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1957 in Wilmington, the son of the late Ronald E. and Kirmuth Inlow Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a lifelong farmer and was a 1975 graduate of Blanchester High School, the Laurel Oaks Program. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Club and the Rumbler’s Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Vanscoy Johnson whom he had married on May 27, 2000 in New Vienna; three sons, Dustin Johnson of Wilmington, Drew (Robyn Robinett) Johnson of Clarksville, and Jeremiah Johnson of Midland; three stepchildren, Adam (Katie Stechenfinger) Parker of Midland, Ryan Poole of Greenfield and Brittany Rhonemus of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Destinee Johnson, Xavion Johnson and Tori Mae Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Dominic Skidmore and Landon Stechenfinger; two sisters, Teresa Gumm of Midland and Tammy (Joseph) Bailey of Blanchester; one brother, Darren (Janet) Johnson of New Vienna; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Dorothy Vanscoy of Lynchburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Holly Mae Johnson.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Earl Vanscoy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Westboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg.
