Darrell Ray Moore, 45, of Hillsboro died unexpectedly Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
He was born Oct. 13, 1965 in Wilmington, the son of Shirley Patterson Moore and the late Robert E. Moore.
Mr. Moore was an employee of the Hood Packing Company in Wilmington and a member of the Impulse Photography Club in Hillsboro.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Charles Hayslip of Hillsboro; four sons, Alan Moore of Hillsboro, Daniel Ward of Wilmington, Brandon (Rachel) Moore of Hillsboro and Ben Matthews of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Xavier Aiden Ward of Wilmington, Gabrial William Moore of Hillsboro and Ryleigh Page Moore of Leesburg; one sister, Tina (Gerry Stewart) Moore of Wilmington; stepsister, Christie (Rob Miller) Hayslip of West Union; stepbrother, Brian (Sonia Crespo) Hayslip of Wilmington; two nieces, Mia Hayslip (Aaron) Morgan of West Union and Kylie Miller of West Union; two nephews, Trenton Miller of West Union and Logan Hayslip of Wilmington; and one great-nephew, Jase Morgan of West Union.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Moore.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
