Danny Ray Palmer, 61, of Chillicothe, formerly of South Salem, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born April 8, 1949 in Ross County, the son of Walter Ray Palmer and Mary Jo (Hinkson) Palmer.

Mr. Palmer was a former employee at Greenfield Research for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia (Purcell) Palmer, whom he married Sept. 10, 1983; three daughters, Sara Elizabeth Palmer of Chillicothe, Tara Renne (Bill) Knisley of Leesburg and Sabrina Bramel of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Logan and McKenzie Knisley and Kaylie Bramel; one brother, Michael (Shelly) Palmer of Chillicothe; six sisters, Helen Lansing of Blanchester, Charlene (John) Shoemaker of Washington C.H., Jenette (Don) Gragg of Chillicothe, Ruth Ann Mark of Fayetteville, Kathy (Mack) Steinbrook of Chillicothe and Jonda (Mike) Whitt of Chillicothe; two half brothers, Roy and Fred Palmer; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends Willard and Mary Ann McNeal of South Salem and Brad and Debbie Cavener of Mt. Sterling.

He was preceded in death by one stillborn brother, Wayne Ray Palmer; one sister, Juanita Palmer Allen; and both parents.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield. Pastor Mike Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Township Cemetery in Bourneville

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
