Charles M. Breckel, 91, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab.
He was born in Cincinnati on Jan. 27, 1919, the son of the late Charles and Venus Hart Breckel.
He graduated from Mowrystown High School in 1937. He retired from Cincinnati Milicron and the Wilmington Transit System. His wife of 70 years, Geraldine Bloom Breckel, survives. He was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kenny (Lydia) Breckel of Lynchburg, Gene (Sharon) Breckel of Wilmington, and Pam (Garry) Cramer of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren, Chris (Casey) Breckel, Jon (Brandi) Breckel, Richie Breckel, Tracey Ridgeway, Missy (Jay) Johnston, Tom (DeeDee) Breckel, Shane Breckel, Brandon (Corlina) Cramer, Michelle (Christopher) Peiffer and Dan (Kristen) Walker; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven special friends, Dan Slocum, Kevin Ellis, Jack Earley, Paul Vaughn, Pat Larrick, Leroy Foster, and Ron Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his son, Carroll Breckel; a great-granddaughter, Hannah Marie Breckel; and five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at the Wilmington Church of Christ, with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 7 from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
