Catherine E. Kirsch, 61, of Greenfield, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
 
She was born on July 10, 1951 in Greenfield, the daughter of Guy and Emma (Yonker) Hilterbrand.
 
She was a former employee of Greenfield Research, and prior to that, she was employed at the U.S. Shoe Corp. in Greenfield. After leaving Greenfield Research, she obtained her Certified Public Accountant degree from Southern State Community College.
 
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Kirsch, whom she married on June 12, 1970; one daughter, Mary (Darrell) Adams of Nashville, Tennessee; three sons, Michael J. (Carol) Kirsch, Robert L. (Heather Gillenwater) Kirsch, Jr. and Derek J. (Shirah) Kirsch, all of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Sarah, Megan, Miranda, Dustin, Anna and Chloe; one sister, Shirley Sparks of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by one brother, Guy “Bud” Hilterbrand, Jr.; and both parents.
 
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Roger Newkirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7.
