Bessie Lee Acord, 79, of Chillicothe Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Brown Memorial Home in Circleville.

She was born Aug. 30, 1934 in Bainbridge the daughter of the late John and Alma Everhart Smith.

On Sept. 9, 1949, she married Robert E. Acord, who died Feb. 15, 2007.

Surviving are three children, Linda (Steve) Jenkins and Sue Acord both of Chillicothe and Robert (Cheryl) Acord of Bourneville; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter,
Debbie Allen; two grandchildren; four sisters; and seven brothers.

Bessie was a member of the Moose Lodge 1626 of Chillicothe and she loved to dance and go to yard sales.

A private graveside service will be held in the Bainbridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family. No calling hours will be observed. The Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge is serving the family.
