Anthony 'Tony' DeWade Gay
Anthony “Tony” DeWade Gay, 58, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Miami Valley Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born Feb. 1, 1966 in Middletown, the son of the late Lois Duncan-Raines.
Tony was a 1984 Clinton-Massie High School graduate, and after high school, he joined the Army Reserves and proudly served his country for four and a half years. Tony enjoyed mining for gold, diamonds and gems, and he was a member of the Ohio State Prospectors Association. He truly was an outdoorsman, spending as much time as he could camping, hiking, metal detecting and making Caesars Creek State Park his playground. He also enjoyed learning the history of the Native Americans, partaking in their powwows and collecting art, pottery and ceremonial jackets. Tony was a family man and loved spending time with his niece, nephews and great-nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Tony is survived by his sister, Edie (Tim) Ross of Waynesville; a niece, Briana (Denver) Meadows; two great-nephews, Denver Bryant Meadows and Dalton Meadows; stepdad, Michael (Karen) Livesay; a sister-in-law and her children, Sandy Lewis, Matthew Lewis and Tony Lewis, all of Waynesville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Lewis.
There will be no visitation. Celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
