Ada Lucille Gutridge, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026 at the age of 84. 

She was born on May 5, 1941, in Greenfield, Ohio, to the late William E. Ogg, of Drefus, Ky. and Julia Ellen Valeria (Littler) Ogg of Greenfield, Ohio.

Ada graduated from McClain High School in 1959. She attended Ohio State University and also studied music at Trinity College. She studied Spanish, French and Italian, as well. She worked at Elder-Beerman as a bridal consultant and at the Ohio Glass museum as a consultant.

Ada was a choir director at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lancaster. She was a member of Golden Girls Trio, singing at nursing homes. She loved singing gospel music. She was a member of the "DAR", Daughters of American Revolution, serving as registrar, regent and the one closest to her heart was service to veterans. She was guardian for three veterans on Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. 

She was also a member of "SOGS," Southern Ohio Genealogy Society in Hillsboro, the Greenfield Historical Society and McClain Marble Stairs Society, and she volunteered at the Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster for 15 years. 

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville, Ohio. While she spent some time in Florida, she volunteered at the Military Museum in Punta Gorda. While the family lived in Tiffin and Lancaster, she was in Kardic Kaper to help raise money for the hospital and a member of the Ritz Players. Ada was also a 4-H advisor for 21 years in Tiffin and Lancaster.

She loved spending time with her brother and sisters. Her greatest joy was raising her daughter and cherished every moment spent creating memories with her and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Nina Williams of Hillsboro, Ohio, Betty (Ken) Carpenter of Sidney, Ohio, Lt. Colonel Paul (Jean) Ogg of Hillsboro, Ohio and Dorothy "Dotti" (David) Moon of Washington Court House, Ohio; nephews, Carlton Carpenter of Columbus, Ohio and Timothy (Lisa) Fryer of Greenfield, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Gutridge; a daughter, Linda (Trey) Gulau of Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Ciara Evans of Columbus, Ohio, Paige Gulau of Sandusky, Ohio and Kirk Gulau of Science Hill, Kentucky; 8 great-grandchildren; nephews, Gary Carpenter of The Villages, Florida, William Paul Fryer of Washington Court House, Ohio and William "Bill" Ogg of Ramsey, New Jersey; as well as her special friend, Peni Carpenter of Lancaster, Ohio.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 65 E. Columbus St., Thornville, Ohio, from 4-7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden, Lancaster, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made in Ada’s memory the Grace Lutheran Church.
