State Sen. Antani to seek Second District seat
State Sen. Niraj Antani
BATAVIA – State Sen. Niraj Antani (R-6) has announced a campaign for Congress in Ohio's 2nd Congressional District.
Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-2) announced Thursday that he will not seek re-election and will retire from Congress. Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District spans 16 counties across about 150 miles in southern Ohio. The district’s partisan voter index leans significantly Republican. The Republican primary in Ohio will take place on March 19, 2024.
"Having been born and raised right here in southern Ohio, I will be a conservative warrior in Congress and fight against Joe Biden's disastrous policies," Antani said. "In Congress, I will have a steel-spine in standing for life, our 2nd Amendment rights, and for pro-growth economic policies. As a fiercely pro-Trump Republican, I will work hard every day for our community in Congress to ensure every Ohioan has an opportunity to achieve the American dream."
Senator Antani resides just 17 miles from the district, having been born and raised in southern Ohio. He will move into the district should he win. Sen. Antani thanks Congressman Wenstrup for his many years of dedicated service to our nation, both in Congress and as an American hero serving as a combat surgeon in the Army.
Senator Antani was the first member of the Ohio General Assembly to endorse President Donald Trump for the 2024 election.
Born and raised in southern Ohio, Sen. Antani is serving his first term in the Ohio Senate, having previously served three terms as State Representative in the Ohio House of Representatives. He has received numerous awards from organizations for veterans, community college, small businesses, and more. Sen. Antani is a graduate of The Ohio State University.
