Merchants National Bank celebrates retirement of John Abell

Merchants National Bank (MNB) is honoring John Abell, Collection Agent, who is retiring after a remarkable career in banking and community service. John has served as a Collection Agent at MNB for 13 years, bringing his dedication, professionalism, and expertise to the role. 

Prior to joining MNB, John worked nine years with Farm Credit Services, 14 years with NCB, and three years with Rural Development – building a career defined by commitment to both clients and co-workers. 

In addition to his professional achievements, John has been an active member of the community. He participates in the Rotary Club, Marshall Methodist Church, and the Marshall Methodist School Committee. John also served as a board member for 25 years with Highland County Community Action and 15 years with Highco Inc. Outside of his professional and community work, John is the owner and operator of Blue Ribbon Farm.
