July 10
A deputy while on patrol in Liberty Twp, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 5200 block of U.S. Route 50 eastbound. The deputy attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and speeds of up to 100 mph were reached while approaching the city of Hillsboro. As the vehicle approached the intersection of W. Main and Oak St., the suspect vehicle stuck a vehicle that was attempting a left hand turn at the light causing the suspect vehicle to become disabled.
The driver, later identified as Jerry W. Harner, 33, of Hillsboro, attempted to flee on foot toward a nearby residence when K9 Argo was deployed to apprehend Harner. After Harner was detained, he was transported to Highland District Hospital by Paint Creek Squad, where he declined medical treatment. Harner was charged with failure to comply, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, driving under suspension and reckless operation. A passenger in the Harner vehicle was not charged and later released. Hillsboro and Lynchburg police assisted on scene.
July 11
A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of state Route 136, after a report of trespassing. After investigation, charges are pending for a Seaman man.
July 12
A deputy responded to the 7800 block of Cave Road, after a report of a disturbance between neighbors. After investigation, all parties involved were given a warning for disorderly conduct.
A resident of the 8800 block of Worley Mill Road, reported an unruly juvenile.
