After insisting he would not pardon his son, Biden does

By President Joe Biden

Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter.

From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.

The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the court room – with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases.

No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.

For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth. They’ll be fair-minded. Here’s the truth: I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.

Biden crime syndicate. Like father like son.
"For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth".
That's the mother of all lies right there.

Sorry Joe. Your son got caught on multiple serious charges. Crimes should have consequences. Raw politics? Throw this on the bloody scale of red meat politics. Next up; Larry Householder and associates are pardoned by Trump on federal convictions. Will Ohio's Attorney General Yost drop state charges pending against certain HB6 defendants so Yost can score an endorsement with DJT in his future bid for Governor? And protect other elected officials and staffers in Columbus from any and all alleged nexus to what they knew and when about HB6? This American is very far from being "fair minded" when the elite have a different set of rules. End all Presidential pardons. Ethics and morals are no longer relevant either in our society.

The rich oughta pay their fair share of taxes!
We need stricter gun contol laws!
I'm not going to pardon my son Hunter.
All lies. The Democrat president lies, always has...
There are several reasons why an individual shall not be allowed to purchase or possess a firearm while they're dependent on intoxicating substances. Hunter Biden lied on his NICS check form. But now, he gets off Scot free because of who his daddy is... All of Hunter's federal infractions from 2014 - 2024 are expunged, just like that. Must be nice to be corrupt and powerful. Hunter Biden is the same idiot that got kicked out of the Navy after 30 days because of illicit drug use. And we still don't know for sure whose cocaine was found at the White House several months ago.
I can't wait until January 20th. The adults will be back in charge again, real leaders and great reformers.

Why do you spin and deflect away from a legit article on the rank failures of Democrats at the Federal level? We have no idea who Householder is. I do remember an obscure Reds outfielder from the early 80's named Paul Householder. But Ohio has been my home of record every day of my life. ("home of record" is a military term. The 5 years I was in the Carolinas, in California, or aboard deployed warships, I was still an Ohio resident.) It would be nice for you to admit that the Democrats are a major obstacle for the future improvements in our Country.
