McClain Lady Tigers win FAC No. 3 golf event at Hillsboro Elks

The Hillsboro Lady Indians hosted the third Frontier Athletic Conference girls golf match on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at the Hillsboro Elks Golf Club. McClain won the team portion of the FAC event, and Aubrey Arnold (Jackson) was the individual medalist.

The next FAC match will take place at Buckeye Hills Country Club on Aug. 24.

McClain (9-2) won the event with a score of 222, followed by Miami Trace (7-4) at 233. In third was Jackson (5-3) at 239, and Hillsboro (5-6) was fourth with a score of 242. The fifth-place team was Washington (0-11) at 260, and Chillicothe had no team score.

McClain’s individual results saw senior Jacolyn Bolender have a score of 51, followed by sophomore Kaylin Sterling at 54. Other MHS scores were junior Abbie Lovett (58), sophomore Reese Roble (59), junior Kallie Posey (61), sophomore Avery Murphy (65) and freshman Hailey Cornett (64).

For Hillsboro, junior Emma Yochum scored a 52, followed by junior Halle Jones at 63. Other scores for HHS included: sophomore Rylea Scarberry (63), sophomore Reagan Leeth (64), senior Grace Watson (66), junior Addy Knauff (68) and junior Amani Cumberland (68).
