McClain FFA qualifies for national soils evaluation contest

The McClain FFA recently competed in both the State Agricultural Soils contest and the State Urban Soils contest.

The Agricultural Soils Team, consisting of Cade Sponcil, Katie Cook, Leah Lovett and Noah Sponcil, placed fourth overall in the State Contest. They will represent the McClain FFA chapter in El Reno, Okla. April 30 through May 2, competing at the National Land and Range Competition.

Senior Cade Sponcil finished the contest as the ninth overall individual.

The Urban Soils Team, consisting of Hunter Miller, Madison Knowles, Gunnar Bode and Emma Marsh, placed 18th out of 53 teams.
