So, where are the jobs Republicans promised?

To the editor:

Jobs? We don’t need no stinking jobs.

Instead of trying to control the recession virus, House Republicans are driving the monkey to the airport.

Speaker of the House John Boehner and his lackeys promised on the campaign trail to focus like a laser on job creation.

So, to date, how many bills have been introduced to this end? Zero, none, nada.

They have no ideas for jobs, so they have turned to the old standby, social issues.

They are concerned with abortion, of course, nothing new there. They wasted days rehashing the Affordable Health Act. They even debated about wild horses.

They are just proud as peacocks for the grand idea of solving the deficit by slashing programs contained in only 12 percent of the total budget, most of which are social programs. Things like education, heath care, aid for elderly. I guess the other 88 percent of the budget is just hunky-dory with them.

Well, of course, we can’t afford to waste money on things that help or advance people, not with smart bombs costing a million bucks apiece. How could we invade and occupy other countries if we waste money on Americans? It’s a shame dumb people control smart bombs,. What irony!

It’s not surprising that a party that generally rejects evolution and science would be befuddled by a laser.

Sincerely,
Ken Rentz
