Reader agrees: We shouldn't spend money we don't have

To the editor:
I agree with Mr. Rory Ryan regarding "Let's stop spending money that isn't there."
I was born into a family that had been Democrats for several generations, and I believed in their form of government. During the past three years, I have been completely disappointed in current events. I worry about my children, grandchildren and the children born in the coming years if things do not change.
I believe that combat troops need to return home to the United States to live and protect our own country. The borders should be patrolled on every side by our military men and women. We cannot continue to fight wars all over the world.
Our government spends trillions of dollars in other countries when our people are being neglected and forgotten. Many veterans (old and young) are unable to return to their homes and families. They cannot find jobs to support their families.
Our professional politicians keep using the words that we are on the brink of a disaster. They want to discuss forever and form committees to solve the economic problems. We are already facing a national depression like the years that my grandparents faced in the 1930s. My family have always been farmers, but that "way of life" is practically gone in Ross County and Highland County today.
People in the U.S. do not have jobs with any future, and the middle class and poor people are losing the homes along with everything else they have worked for most of their lives.
The politicians want to stay in office for years and make new laws to take away our rights to freedom. Millionaires never have enough money, and they are able to make their investments in other countries and do not pay taxes on that money.
I don't have all of the answers because I'm not smart enough, but I believe we will eventually owned by other countries (for example, China, Japan, India) and be their slaves.
