Lawmakers don't understand runaway spending

To the editor:
It really seems that the administration along with our representatives and senators just don’t understand what runaway spending is.
Now, the FCC plans on spending $7.2 billion so that more Americans can have broadband internet access (http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/technology).
Last year, all our TVs were switched from analog to digital which I believe was not the government’s constitutional responsibility.
Now, our folks in Washington want to spend money we don’t have to give everyone faster Internet.
This is an unnecessary waste of “our” hard-earned tax money.
By the way, I have dial-up because that’s what I can afford and I’m not going to force my neighbors to help pay for me to get broadband.
Sincerely,
Jeff Pence
