Highland County losing two competent officials

To the editor:

We are losing two very wonderful public officials.

Karen Daniels, who has served the city/town/village (whatever we are now) for a great number of years. She has always worked very hard to provide us with honest , capable and willing hands. We would not be where we are today without her very competent handling of our finances. Anytime any citizen had a question Karen was always there to answer. She was never too busy to sit and listen and to give whatever help she could provide. Karen, you will be GREATLY missed! The very best to you and whatever you will be doing in the future. And, honey, if you were to change your mind, Greenfield would be so lucky!

Jim Grandey, who also served Highland County for many years (also announced his retirement this week). Jim has always been there to answer whatever questions anyone had regarding any happening that was disturbing to the concerned citizens. I first met Jim in 2001/2002 when I was a student at SSCC (Southern State Community College) and he was my instructor. When I first listened to him, I knew this man knew his law! He always provided honest, capable and truthful answers and has done the same in his service as prosecutor. With him handling that position we, the citizens of Highland County, felt safe. Jim, you will be missed. And to you also we wish the very best in your retirement, and enjoy those grandchildren, as they do grow fast.

Why are the good ones resigning and the bad ones are not?

Katherine Clawson,

Greenfield, Ohio
