Lady Indians 3rd at 10th annual McClain Invitational

GREENFIELD — The winner of the 2013 McClain Invitational on the girls side went to the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers, as they scored 157.66 points en route to the championship of the 10th annual event.
The Lady Pioneers were followed by Circleville in second with 129 points and Hillsboro in third place as they collected 80.50 points. Miami Trace followed in fourth place with 77 points, and in fifth was Piketon at 63. Westfall followed with 57.50 points, then Adena (57), and rounding out the scoring was McClain at 33.33.
Highland County had two first-place finishes in the event held at McClain Field with McClain's Jhaela Coleman sprinting to a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.60. Coleman was second in the 200m dash at 27.80.
The other first place for Highland County came from Hillsboro's Brittany Ferrell, who paced her way to the top finish in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.20.
Alyssa Sullivan (HHS) was second in the shot put, as she had a distance of 31-8.50. Allison Goolsby was also second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.00.

Also in second for the Lady Indians was their 3200m relay team of Reaghan Haines, Bree Opst, Alissa Hauke and Brittany Ferrell at 11:11.00. Taylor Stanforth also gained a second-place finish, as she had a time of 52.60 in the 300m hurdles.
For HHS, Madison Lambcke was seventh in the discus (78-3), and Samantha Edwards was eighth in the long jump at 12-9.50.
McClain's Abby Storts was second in the high jump at 4-8, and Hillsboro's Briana Aleshire was seventh at 4-4.
Opst was eighth in pole vault at 7-0, while McClain's McKenzie Figgins was fourth in the 100m hurdles at 17.90.
Hillsboro's Samantha Edwards was sixth in the 100m dash at 14.50. The HHS 800m relay team of Goolsby, Tyneika Rickman, Samantha Edwards and Lindsay Ulicny totaled a time of 2:04.00.
In the 1600m run, Hauke was fifth at 6:05.30, and in the 400m relay event, Hillsboro's team of Goolsby, Marissa Vance, Ulicny and Stanforth were fourth (55.70). MHS was fifth at 56.50 with the team of Figgins, Storts, Alyssa Faulconer and Coleman.
Ceairra Neal was seventh in the 800m run for the Lady Indians, (2:52.60) and Rickman of HHS was eighth in the 200m dash (31.00). Haines placed fifth in the 3200m run (12:29.20), while Hauke was sixth at 13:11.10.
Hillsboro's 1600m relay team placed third at 4:30.20.
