The Hillsboro Indians opened the year with a non-league victory, on the road, over the Western Brown Broncos 44-34 Friday night at WBHS.
HHS (1-0) won with the help of senior Jarrod Hart as he led all scorers with a game-high 17 points. He was followed in scoring by Latrell Haithcock with nine and Jordan Captain with six.

For Western Brown, they were led by Allen with 10 and Kuttler with six.
The Indians opened the game with a 12-6 first over WB, followed by a halftime lead of 18-13. In the third, the Indians scored nine points, while WB scored 12 for an HHS lead of 27-25.
In the fourth, HHS outscored their opponent, 17-9.
HHS will play again on Saturday, Dec. 1 as they face the Lucasville Valley Indians at the Zane Trace Tip Off Classic at 6 p.m. at ZTHS.
