One of the few events not to be postponed on Thursday was the 2013 RL Davisson Invitational at Southeastern, where McClain boys were runners-up at the event.
Besides the Tigers, who scored 134 points in the boys event, the Hillsboro Indians were third with 108 points. The winner was Zane Trace, who totaled 142 points for first place.
In the girls event, the Lady Indians of HHS were third with 108 points, as ZTHS also won the girls event, scoring 142.50 points. In second was Vinton County with 120.50. MHS placed seventh with 47 points out of nine schools.
For the event, the HHS boys won three events, as did the MHS boys. The Lady Indians won four events at the invitational.
The first-place finishes for the McClain boys included two relay events and the 400-meter dash.
In the boys 4x200m relay, the Tigers team of James Morris, Roscoe East, Thomas Schrader and Seth Willman won with a time of 1:38.48, winning by almost three full seconds over second-place Vinton County.
MHS also won the boys 4x100m relay with a team of Alex Hollar, Jordan Goble, John Turner and Seth Willman, as they tallied a time of 46.12 for the top spot.
Mikel Pritchard was first in the 400m dash for the Tigers, racing to a first-place time of 52.91.
For the HHS boys, Jarrod Hart won two individual events (and was a part of the relay win), including the 1600m run with a time of 4:38.91, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the second-place time of 4:48.27. Hart also won the 800m run by 10 seconds at 2:02.07, compared to the second-place time of 2:12.13.
The HHS boys 4x400m relay team won their event with a time of 3:41.56. The winning team consisted of Gabriel Tamborski, MacKenzie Conlon, Braden Wildey and Hart. The second-place time of VCHS was 3:44.87.
As for the first-place times of the HHS girls team, Brittany Ferrell won the 800m run with a time of 2:31.04, as she paced the field by 12 seconds, with second place timing in at 2:43.57.
Megan Overberg won the 200m dash with a time of 26.97, and Alissa Hauke was the winner of the 3200m run, timing in at 13:06.87.
The Lady Indians' 4x400m relay team also had a first-place finish, taking the top spot with a time of 4:17.99, breaking the previous meet record of 4:21.50 set in '09.
