The following are recaps for Wednesday, Oct. 18 boys soccer tournament games.

Hillsboro Indians lose in sectionals to end season

The Hillsboro Indians’ 2023 boys soccer season ended with a tough 2-1 defeat on Wednesday night (Oct. 18) to the host Gallia Academy Blue Devils in the Division II SE District Sectional Finals.

The Indians’ lone goal was scored by Tate Davis, which was assisted by Ryan Howland.

Seniors for the Indians are: Keahi Mhanna, Isaac Brandyberry, Jacob Schommer and Carson Scott.

Hillsboro wraps up the 2023 season at 6-8-4 overall, and they were fourth place in the Frontier Athletic Conference at 2-4-2 overall.

McClain ends season in Div. II sectional finals

The No. 15 seeded McClain Tigers closed out their 2023 season on Wednesday evening as they lost in the Division II SE District Sectional Semifinals at Athens High School, falling to the No. 2 seeded AHS Bulldogs, 8-0.

The Tigers end the 2023 season with an overall record of 4-10-2 overall, and they were 0-7-1 in the Frontier Athletic Conference this season.
