The following are recaps from Highland County soccer and volleyball games Monday, Oct. 9.
BOYS SOCCER
Indians fall by 2 goals to Peebles
In a home non-conference game Monday night (Oct. 9), the Hillsboro Indians lost to the game to the visiting Peebles Indians by a 2-0 score at HHS.
Both goals by Peebles were scored by Waylon Lloyd. The goals were assisted by Connor Gross and Carson Reed.
Peebles’ Cristopher Oldfield finished with 17 saves.

VOLLEYBALL
Fairfield wins in 3 sets over HHS
The Fairfield Lady Lions hosted their Volley for a Cause game on Monday (Oct. 9), as they defeated the Hillsboro Lady Indians in three sets for the non-conference victory.
FHS won by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-21.
Individual results will be posted when available.

VOLLEYBALL
MHS drops game to Western Brown
On Monday night in Brown County, the McClain Lady Tigers lost a non-conference volleyball game to the host Western Brown Lady Broncos in four sets.
McClain lost by scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 28-26 in sets two through four. MHS won set one at 25-23.
For WBHS, Cassidy Armstrong led with 16 kills and a team-best 15 digs, and Christina Frye was the assists leader with 19. Olivia Fischer led WBHS with five blocks, and the leader in aces with three each were Alyssa Campbell, Fischer and Frye.
McClain stats were not made available.

VOLLEYBALL
Lady Mustangs win at Georgetown
It was a winning night for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs as they defeated the host Georgetown Lady GMen in four sets.
LCHS won sets two through four by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-22. Georgetown won set one at 25-20.
Leaders for LCHS included Halle Greene with nine kills, Addy Carraher with seven kills and Kylie O’Connor with six kills.
The aces leader was Avery Shope with eight, followed by Carraher with four.
Greene also led LCHS with three total blocks, and the digs leader was Allison Rockey with 23, followed by Joslyn Rockey with 14 and Shope with 12.
The assists leaders were Ava McLaughlin and Carraher with 14 each.
