The following are recaps for Hillsboro and McClain girls soccer; Fairfield boys soccer; and Fairfield volleyball tournament games for Thursday, Oct. 19.

BOYS SOCCER
Lions fall in sectionals to Ironton St. Joe
The Fairfield Lions finished their 2023 season on Thursday evening, as they traveled for their Division III SE District Sectional Final game, falling by a 5-0 score at Ironton St. Joseph.
The Lions in the game had 10 shots but were held scoreless in the postseason game.
At goal for the Lions, Isaac Burns totaled two saves, and Carson Jenkins finished with six saves.
Seniors for the Lions are: Janre Lerio, JD Duncan, Isaac Burns, Larkin Friend, Grant Baker, Daniel Ward, Alex Wiget and Dylan Herbert.
Fairfield finishes the season at 5-13-0 overall, and in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference their record was 4-3-0 as they finished in fourth place.

Lady Lions lose to North Adams in Div. III Sectional Final
In a battle of two Southern Hills Athletic Conference team in the Division III SE DIstrict Sectional Finals on Thursday night (Oct. 19), the Fairfield Lady Lions lost in four sets to the champion of the Division I SHAC, the North Adams Lady Green Devils, in four sets.
Fairfield — the SHAC Division II champions the past two seasons — lost to the host Lady Green Devils in sets one (25-16), three (25-20) and four (25-17). The Lady Lions won set two by a 25-16 score.
For NAHS, Katelynn Boerger led in kills with 21, and Natalie Ragan had 34 assists for North Adams. Three North Adams players had two aces each (Boerger, Kirsten Campbell and Izzy Grooms).
The digs leader for NAHS was Paige Evans with 29. Aulbrea Meade and Boerger each led the Lady Green Devils with six blocks each.
The Lady Lions finish 15-8 overall and in the SHAC they were 12-1 this season.
Seniors for the Lady Lions are: Emily Taylor and Haley Crabtree.

GIRLS SOCCER
Lady Indians drop sectional final game in OT
In a thrilling Division II SE District Sectional Final game on Thursday night at Athens High School, the Hillsboro Lady Indians lost in overtime to the Athens Lady Bulldogs, 2-1.
Hillsboro’s lone goal was scored by Gracie Thoroman, with the assist from Addy Miles.
Seniors for HHS are: Brooklyn Lucarello, Ramsey Haines, Gracie Thoroman, Addy Miles, Hannah Holland, Rylie Scott and Madisyn Hollen.
Hillsboro finishes the ’23 season with an overall record of 7-11, while they had a 5-5 mark in the Frontier Athletic Conference.

GIRLS SOCCER
McClain ends season against Warren
The McClain Lady Tigers saw their season wrap up on Thursday, losing in their Division II SE District Sectional Final game against the Warren Lady Warriors in Vincent at WHS by a 1-0 score.
Warren scored their lone goal in the first half.
For the season, the Lady Tigers finish at 9-5-3 overall, and in the Frontier Athletic Conference they were 5-3-2 this season.
Seniors for McClain are: Luca Matesic and Kaitlyn Jett.
