Burke receives judicial endorsement
Former Greenfield resident Stephanie Pearce Burke, a candidate for Jefferson (Ky.) District Court judge, has once again been endorsed by the Louisville Courier-Journal in an editorial this week.
Burke is the daughter of Steve and Charlene Pearce. She is a 1987 graduate of McClain High School. Burke is married to Dennis C. Burke, also an attorney, with whom she has two sons, Aiden and Carey, and a stepdaughter, Maria.
In its endorsement, the Courier-Journal said, “In a three-way primary last spring, defense attorney Stephanie Pearce Burke polled a majority of 51 percent, an impressive showing. Mason Trenaman, an appointed incumbent in District 13 who chose to run in District 14 because he felt he had a better chance there, polled only 32 percent.
“Ms. Burke deserves to be elected to the bench. She has been in private practice and has worked both prosecution and defense sides, handling
everything from traffic to capital murder cases. She also has been a guardian ad litem, founded a cooperative parenting program and is involved
in many layers and areas of the Louisville community. ... Since moving to Kentucky in 1994, Burke has earned esteem as a successful lawyer in
Louisville, recognized by Louisville Magazine as one of “Louisville’s Top Trial Attorneys Under 40” in 2005. (She) has been endorsed by Citizens for
Better Judges, was our choice in the primary, and we again urge her election,” the newspaper said.
We commend the Courier-Journal for its support of one of Highland County’s finest and we wish Ms. Burke a successful campaign for District Court judge in the Bluegrass State.
